Chaitanya,

I tried sourcing it in Pune but could never get any sheets that matched my requirments. Every one seemed to hae 8mm or thicher sheets nothing in the size of 3mm - 5mm.

Can you point me to a few vendors in Pune who have stock of 3-5mm?

Doesn't look like depron to me. You'll not be able to roll 5mm depron like that without breaking it.

Nope -- even thats not deppron -- that is like layers of foam stuck together as a cushion.

Deppron is like a finer version of Thermacol (closest I can get) Its white, plain ,smooth, not flexible and very light. Oh very easy to cut with a knife.

The thing in picture dosen't seem like depron Shocked , u canno't  roll depron actully, its white and looks much like the thermocol tea cups.

Pradumnya, if u are in pune then ask at Modern paper store at Appa Balwant Chowk, they call it bio-foam, also one source it the "king's" shop at near Nehru chowk in the nana peth area

and rajesh where have u been? i tried emailing u a couple of times... bhool gaya kya?

Hi,

Depron in available in Delhi and i guess many other places as well. You get it in 2mm, 3mm, 5mm and 12mm. We have built a big fleet of planes and parkjets using depron.

Cost is 120 bucks or so per sheet (1m x 1.1m) for the 5mm one.

The trick to buying anything in India is to know what its called in the local lingo. Technically Depron is Extruded PolyStyrene, same stuff used to make the stiff disposable plates u see around. In India its called Biopac foam.

BTW The foam in the picture is NOT depron. It is A/C insulation foam which i sometimes use to line my work table or pack rx's etc for cushioning!!!

cheers...
